3 degrees of bill

i just read an interesting article about bill murray today.

apparently, he’s been randomly appearing at parties all over new york city. that might have struck me odd if it was anyone else, but i have a story from an ex-roomie of mine, d, that makes this silly, crazy, unbelieveable story true. d swears the person who told this story says it’s totally true, ‘cuz it happened to him. and i think believe him. really, i think i do. ;)

i have to say, im not at all surprised to hear bill’s random party crashing antics. here’s why:

d told me a story that happened to her childhood friend’s brother. [so now, it's "my friend's childhood friend's brother".... hence the 3 degree of separation title]. anyway… onto the story~~~

d’s friend’s brother (dfb), then a young 20-something, lived in new york city and found himself on a subway train during the wee hours of the morning. on this rare occasion he noticed the only passenger on this car was himself and another fellow on the other side. he glanced at the passenger and did a double take. he realized it was bill murray. finding himself, perhaps, in a once in-a-lifetime-encounter dilemma; his mind began having a bit of a crisis, “oh my gosh, oh my gosh. it’s bill murray… oh my gosh, should i go up to him? should i not? it’s really him. oh man… maybe he doesn’t want to be bothered, maybe he wouldn’t mind… oh my gosh….!”

with dfb’s mind in a jumble he didn’t notice bill walking up to him as the train slowed for the next stop. what happened next is crazy! as if right off an snl skit, bill then proceeds to grab dfb’s head and starts giving him a noogie, while exclaiming, “NO ONE’S GONNA BELIEVE YOU!!! NO ONE’S GONNA BELIEVE YOU!!!” and afterwards promptly exits the now opened doors of the train.

hilarious, no? cracks me up everytime.

ahhh… isn’t life fun? we need more bill murrays in this world. he’s great.
