i’ve been trying to down at least 3 liters of water every day. it’s not an easy task. so far so good, though.

today i:

  • beat my alarm by 2 hours this morning.
  • read 2 chapters of pride and prejudice and zombies.
  • tidied up my place (but not my room – i think i secretly like my room messy. it’s a true reflection of what is going on inside. maybe? no? maybe.).
  • listened to blind pilot online while getting ready for the day.
  • lit some candles to make my place smell welcoming.
  • met some prospective roommates in the afternoon. i like them all. i hope a couple of them will move in.
  • am samantha.
  • drove to los alamitos to get skyler. jack likes skyler better than samantha. i don’t know.
  • celebrated lyn & ymi’s bday at noodle king.
  • bought fragrant pears from a chinese market (see picture above ^).
  • ate bday cake tort.
  • giggled like a little girl w/ lyn, sunshine, godspeedating kimmie, & gnat.
  • commented on fb statuses.
  • replied to some gmails.
  • paid some online bills.
  • listened to the swell season online.
  • posted an entry on wordpress.
  • pondered.
  • prayed.

it was a good day.

godspeed, sunshine, and i drove to a crisis pregnancy center fundraiser banquet at the burbank castaway restaurant yesterday. the food was mediocre, but the view was spectacular!

i found this random castaway photo online. it doesn’t do justice to the beautiful, majestic panoramic view of los angeles.

we met the neatest family at our table: k and her two (very handsome) sons. it’s funny how once complete strangers can become “friends” by the end of the evening. godspeed even took down her info, and we already started concocting a night out with k, very soon in the future! a single mother of two teenaged sons… gave both sunshine and i a thought of a set-up date with a quality 40-something gentleman! hee hee :D  that shouldn’t be too much of a problem, k is a very attractive woman!

after our night out of steak, potatoes, & veggies, and waiting outside for an hour for our valeted car. the three of us headed to yogurtland for our dessert in alhambra. 3 cups of yogurt, plus toppings totaled a little more than $6. what a deal! we ate and chatted and dispersed.

it was a good night.

thanks girls. i needed that.

godspeed and i were in a predicament last night. 2 girls + 1 unpredictable rav4 = frantically calling everyone we know.

her car stalled on our way to mosaic. i guess if anyone was to have car problems, being stranded in south pasadena is just as good as your own backyard. south central LA, it is definitely not.

let me just say, our plans for the night drastically turned to a night of faithful-friends-to-the-rescue event. it was a good reminder of what it means to be a friend. and godspeed has some real quality friends, i tell ya. it was almost a party in the parking lot of carrows in south pasadena.

i want to be a friend like that.

i think it’s a true reflection of who she is. and she’s proven herself to be the kind of friend anyone would want to be.
